"For You Are Holy"
O God, there's none like you in all the earth.
O God, who can compare to You?
Only You have no beginning,
Only You could make the skies.
Only You are truth unending,
Only You are always wise.
Lord, there is none like You.
For You are Holy!
Lord, You are Holy!
O God, there's none like you in all the earth.
O God, who can compare to You?
Only You are never sinning,
Only You have never lied.
Only You cannot be tempted,
Only You can never die.
Lord, there is none like You.
For You are Holy!
Lord, You are Holy!
I love the song For You Are Holy by Kevin Inafuku. The words are simple, but very meaningful. When I was at Ironwood a couple of weeks ago, the junior campers learned this song and I just love to hear children sing! This video makes me laugh a bit too, because it almost sounds like the kids are "yelling" instead of singing...but I assure you - in person, it was precious and didn't quite sound to "harsh". :)
Gotta Love Starbucks!
Here's our proof that we actually went...can't you tell? Bummy clothes and no make-up...ha

LOL moment a few weeks ago...
Lexie was feeling a bit poorly one evening...and said, "I think I'm going to eat some soup." I was thinking, But it's so hot outside! However, when you're sick...nothing tastes better than some soup. I was doing something else and I turn around to see this:
At first I didn't notice - then I did a double-take. What?! You're "drinking" your soup from a HUGE measuring glass?! H-y-s-t-e-r-i-c-a-l! Definitely LOL on that one!
Yep! She finished it all! :) And I assure you, she was feeling MUCH better afterwards...perhaps there's a trick to this...eating-soup-from-a-glass-measuring-cup...?

Day Trip
After all of my traveling around, I decided I needed a Diet Coke. :) I saw a 7-Eleven and grabbed a fountain drink...to which I was remembering my post a few days ago...so here's a shot "just for humor". (And no, it's not permanently stuck to me car top roof.) :) One more thing to add - it was a terrible fountain drink! It tasted..."sweaty". I have no other word for it than that. *sigh*

So.Adorable.
And QUITE unique. I could never carry a bag like this! LOL The coin purse is kind of cute though...
Coin purse...
The whole purpose of this post was for THIS bag. I.AM.IN.LOVE.WITH.THIS.BAG.!!!! Isn't it just adorable?! If any of you ever see this in a Goodwill Store, DO grab it for me, would you please? :)

Birthday, Boo-Boo, Back Home!
I've taken a whole week off blogging...I was at Ironwood Christian Camp in Newberry Springs - aka: The very, hot, and even humid desert. Mojave Desert, to be exact. I took some kids from my school to camp for the week - they had a blast! Check. That was the most important item on the list! These kids had never been to this camp before, let alone the desert. The first 2 hrs. into our trip, one of the girls says, "Are we in the desert yet?" Mind you, it was a 7 hr. drive! I told her she would definitely know once we got there. :) Sure enough, it came and we had ourselves quite an adventure. One I didn't ask for...
I printed off Mapquest directions and had my "trusty" GPS (Carmin, is here name) with me. We were so close. 20 minutes close, in fact, when I decided to follow Carmin instead of Mapquest. Big.Mistake. I thought I'd recognized a road name on my GPS and followed it...well...needless to say, we went off-roading. In a Ford Expedition. It WAS fun, but the pressure of getting the kids to camp on time was all I could handle! We went about 15 minutes driving down unpaved, dirt "roads". Why I went 15 minutes, I have NO idea, but the kids had great fun "exploring" the desert. It only started to get uncomfortable when one of the girls had to use the bathroom...that was my clue to turn around and get back on track. :) Thankfully we found our way back - even after two turns on these "roads" - I thought for sure I would NEVER get back to the paved roads, but God was good to lead me back. Goodness knows I have NO sense of direction (those of you who know me personally, know this to be true) - so I know it was the Lord helping me to find my way back. I'm thankful for His protection!
The week of camp was good - 3 different camps going on at once...jr camp, jr. high camp, and high school camp. I spent most of my time with the jr. high camp and was really impressed with the staff's teaching the kids to really think God's Word. Gave practical tools to help understand and study God's Word and I was encouraged in my study as well.
Thursday was my most eventful day. I wish I had something better to say other than, "I fell on a stair", but that's it! A lot of the stairs are wooden and tons of sand built up around...somehow I misjudged a step and fell straight down to the ground leaving a nasty, baseball size lump on the side of my foot. *sigh* It's pretty swollen and starting to bruise as of today...hoping that I'll be as good as new by next weekend.
Glad to be HOME and looking forward to accomplishing things this week. A verse the Lord challenged my by from His Word this week as I was studying for Sunday School is in John 8:29. Jesus is talking about being sent to earth to and He says, "...I always do those things that please Him." I'm praying that my week is a week that pleases Him. Can you say, "I always do what pleases Him"? Maybe that can be your hearts desire this week too.

San Fran LOL's
We ate at Rainforrest Cafe as I had an amazing coupon that needed to be used up before August! What a treat! Have you ever seen those bikes that have a cart behind it? They had tons of them out today. A "tour guide" (of sorts) can take up to 2 people in the cart behind his bike and "bike" you to a destination - such as Pier 39, or Ghiradelli Square, etc. My first year living in California, I hopped on one with my roommate at the time, Kristina. We just laughed and laughed - cars in very crammed traffic were moving faster than the poor Italian boy biking us up the hill to the Ghiradelli Square ... ohhhh what an experience! Lexie decided she didn't want a ride today. :) We did, however, see a couple that took a ride. Only this guy was different than some of the ones I've seen...do you see what his shirt says? It made me laugh...
PEDICAB! LOL That's definitely what it was, too! A cab by foot of sorts. The couple looked like they enjoyed the ride, though. I think the cowboy hat just makes it all the more interesting. :)
We had a fun day and I'm thankful that the Lord allowed us to enjoy the day in the city. I was also thanking the Lord today for the fact that I live semi-local to such a fun city (most of the time). It's a blessing to me - I know not everyone would agree...not everyone likes cities. But it really is such a fun thing for me. I never would've guessed God would've sent and brought me to California......I'm so glad He did. :)
P.S. One last picture - this was my special "splurge" today - the Arts and Crafts booths were set up around Pier 1. I stopped at a booth - this lady had great photos...and made jewelry with her photos! I couldn't resist this ring...I even waited from morning until afternoon before buying it - thinking about it all the while. So cute - it's a birds nest - hopefully the picture is clear enough. I love it.
Pillow Case Dresses
Some of you may not know of my desire to go to Africa. It's grown stronger and stronger these past couple of years - I cannot wait to see how the Lord is going to work things out! I am in the process of contacting a couple of mission boards to see about a short-term opportunity next summer after school. (btw, I guess this could be a plug - if you have any suggestions or contacts, please let me know!) :)
ANYway...I came across this website and could NOT wait to participate! I showed it to Lexie and she wanted to make one too! We called Rachel - the lady who wrote the blog and organizes all the dresses to be sent to Africa - and asked what sizes were needed most. Size 2-4. Lexie made a size 4 and I was so excited to make a "baby" dress! I've never made anything so easy in my entire life. My thoughts kept going back to when I was in jr. high. I had taken a home-ec course and had to sew a little jumper - oh.man. I just remember it being the hardest thing I'd EVER done "craft-wise". So glad this was easier! And the purpose made it so much more enjoyable. :) I wish I could see the children wearing them...my heart aches for their needs. Such a small way to be able to meet a clothing need for a little girl. One last thing to ad - it was SO inexpensive! It cost about $3.00-$3.50 PER dress. Amazing. I plan to make more in the future. Here are some pictures of the process - we had a lot of fun working on the dresses together. Tomorrow, at church, I hope to try my little dress on a girl to see how it fits. I'll have to do another post update tomorrow afternoon.

Frozen, Float-y, Flo
As I was looking at the picture of my cell phone today, I came across a picture that I still laugh at! Perhaps it was one of those you-had-to-be-there-moments, but I told Lexie I would post it once my blog was up and runnin'. Lexie's bathroom has a fantabulous bathtub! I'm a tad jealous. She's been searching for a blow-up bathtub pillow...ya know...for a nice, long soak! We made a late trip to Bed Bath & Beyond one night and lo and behold! There was a bath pillow! Inflatable. Needless to say, she was ecstatic. So ecstatic that she couldn't wait until we got home to blow it up. I have proof. :)
One last randomocity for today....I can't help but laugh at the Progressive Insurance commercials - have you seen them? They're a riot! I guess it depends on your level of humor - sure doesn't take much to entertain me. ;) My Pastor thinks I look like Flo. This has been highly debated. :) What do you think? This is a picture from Christmas - closest one with my long hair that I could get.
Soooo...I'm not seein' it. :) I guess my personality is supposed to be a little like hers, but I don't think I'm THAT bubbly! Maybe I should try to be more so. Here's my favorite commercial as of date:
So, on those happy and random thoughts, I see myself having interesting dreams tonight. :)

LOL: Purpose Statement
LOL - Many acronyms could be made up of LOL. Three that came to mind were exactly as I've posted: Loving Our Lord, Laughing Out Loud, Living Out Life. God is the giver of life - my life. How blessed and privileged I am to know Him personally! Do you think God has a sense of humor? I know the He gives joy - joy and laughter MUST go together. :) So many things throughout each day make me laugh. I keep saying to my roommate, Lexie, "I should blog that..." -- so I've decided to...do.just.that. Blogs are hard to keep up with...for me. I started one awhile back and didn't "stick with it". I'm hoping this is different.
For my 1st post, I had to post something that made me, and my roomie Lexie, seriously LOL. (You decide which acronym that fits with)
